The Madison Symphony Orchestra and Conductor John DeMain open this concert with Edward Elgar’s "stormy In the South" (Alassio), followed by Max Bruch’s famous "Violin Concerto No. 1," featuring the talents of Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud. He will then showcase his ability as a composer with a special performance of three of his 24 Equinox postludes. The concert closes with Beethoven’s "Symphony No. 6" (Pastorale), his tribute to country life, made popular in Disney’s Fantasia.
