Join Wisconsin Histrocal Society Press author Patty Loew as she celebrates the release of the revised second edition of "Indian Nations of Wisconsin: Histories of Endurance and Renewal." This long-awaited revised edition includes new material reflecting contemporary historical events and initiatives of the 21st century, covering the economic, social and environmental advancements of the Native communities. New chapters are devoted to discussions of urban Indians and the Brothertown Indian Nation. Loew will discuss the new edition, which explores Wisconsin's rich Native tradition from origin stories to contemporary struggles over treaty rights and sovereignty issues. Light refreshments will be served, and a book signing will follow the presentation. Lavishly illustrated with maps and more than 140 photographs, "Indian Nations of Wisconsin" is indispensable to anyone interested in the region's history and its Native peoples.
