Arboretum Walk: Wingra Oak Savanna Restoration and Monroe Street Environs

Free naturalist-led hike. This oak savanna restoration has been a cooperation among the Arboretum, the Dudgeon-Monroe neighborhood, and volunteers since 1992. See the Wheeler Council Ring, designed by Jens Jensen, and two of the springs that made this area a site for Native Americans for thousands of years. Meet at the parking lot at the corner of Monroe Street and Arbor Drive. Dress for the weather and the possibility of mosquitoes.
