Madison Hotel Week is set for February 13-23, 2015 and we plan to build on success and awareness from last year.
Fill out the PARTICIPATION FORM and return to email@example.com by September 30 to secure your spot! You can also mail or drop off your completed form to 615 E. Washington Ave, Madison, WI 53703.
The dates for this year's Hotel Week (Feb. 13-23) will take advantage of Valentine's Day and President's Day, which will provide inspiration for overnight trips (romance and family angles). Milwaukee and Rockford area schools do not have school on February 16.
Hotel rates are set at $75 and $100. Based on input from our discussion at the last Lodging Association meeting, the $125 price has dropped, allowing visitors to take advantage of even lower rates (resulting in more bookings)!
Marketing and PR Plans.
Marketing will begin earlier this year to target holiday gift-givers. Public relations will begin this summer, in hopes of securing stories in long-lead publications such as Midwest Living.
Analyzing Last Year's Results.
Last year bookings came mostly from Milwaukee, Rockford and Madison. Although we advertised in Chicago, it did not result in a large return on investment. Our media plan will reflect this outcome.
To offer flexibility for visitors and to improve our tracking for this promotion, we will display participating hotels in two ways: 1) via a "Book Now" link (Regatta) and 2) a "Participating Hotels" link (will go to your individual hotel). Note: If your property is using Regatta's extranet, you can set the rate and set aside a specific number of rooms for the promotion. If your hotel is using the GDS, you can also set the rate and then turn off the promotion when saturation is reached. If you need assistance with setting up your rate via Regatta, contact Morgan Lewis at 434-806-7653 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
GMCVB will track and report out on bookings secured through Regatta, which also allows us to retain visitor contact information for upcoming promotions. If you receive bookings directly with your hotel, we ask that you track the following and be prepared to report out at the end of the promotion: number of rooms, number of visitors, and visitors' email, phone numbers and city.
With these changes also come similarities. It is up to the individual hotel to set their rate at either $75 or $100 and to create a promotional code (preferably HOTELWEEK). The GMCVB will continue to support this effort financially and will handle both the marketing and public relations. They will also host and manage the website: madisonhotelweek.com.
In order to maximize the marketing effort for Hotel Week, there will be a cost to participate:
• Bed and Breakfasts - $50
• 200 rooms or less - $500
• 200 rooms or more - $750
As one of the first Hotel Weeks in the country, we feel this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the fantastic hotels in the Madison area. Fill out the PARTICIPATION FORM today!
