Wisconsin Culinary Experience

When you visit, you'll soon learn that Madison's flair for locally inspired fare goes beyond to beverages, as well. Breweries, wineries and spirits are part of Wisconsin's heritage, and you'll find award-winning options in all directions in and around town. Capital Brewery in Middleton is a hot spot where craft brews and live music in the Bier Garten are always on tap (rain or shine, through October)! Nestled on the outskirts of New Glarus you'll find New Glarus Brewing Co. featuring handcrafted beers brewed with 100% natural ingredients. If award-winning wines are on your mind, make the drive to Mt. Horeb to experience the Fisher King Winery tasting room where you can enjoy a glass of wine paired with artisan cheeses, sausage and Gail Ambrosius truffles.

For dessert, don't miss the chance to try the Chocolate Shoppe's ice cream selections at one of three retail stores around Madison. Or, take a trip to the Sassy Cow Creamery in Columbus, where you'll get a first-hand glimpse of where Sassy Cow ice cream and other products are made. Of course, you can also enjoy a freshly made ice cream sundae, milk shake or malt during your visit or to take home.
