Visitors to The Dairy State have never had it sweeter.  Come sample our finest dairy-inspired product - ice cream - at numerous locations throughout the city.  Ella's Deli & Ice Cream Parlor is a children's wonderland complete with a circus atmosphere, flying puppets and moving toy railroad over-head.  Outside, enjoy Madison's only full-sized Carousel open seasonally to the young and young-at-heart.  Home to the University of Wisconsin's own Babcock Ice Cream, make sure to visit the Daily Scoop at the UW Memorial Union, Union South, or Babcock Hall to taste one of their many delicious flavors.  Take your treats out back to the Student Union Terrace overlooking Lake Mendota and enjoy one of the most beautiful views around.  If you prefer your ice cream on the go, stroll down State Street, and find your favorite flavor of at the Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream.  For one last cold treat destination, there is Monty's Blue Plate Diner which serves Sassy Cow Creamery ice cream along with other delicious sweets like cookies and brownies. If chocolate is your taste, plan to visit Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier or Candinas Chocolatier.  Both locales specialize in gourmet, handcrafted chocolate.  Or, choose to indulge in gourmet cupcakes at Daisy Café and Cupcakery or Panera Café and Bakery where the flavor combinations are endless.  Visit Bluephie's, Market Street Diner and Hubbard Avenue Diner for an amazing array of desserts and specialty pies.
