When the temperatures dip and flakes start to fly, there’s few better ways to enjoy the best of winter (minus the chill!) than with a drink and a bite inside one of greater Madison’s many heated domes and igloos. Round up some friends and book your spot for this season – reservations can fill up fast!
Café Hollander
The heated Dutch domes at Café Hollander provide a cozy oasis to drop your bags and unwind for a while at Hilldale Shopping Center. Your $100 reservation includes 90 minutes in a private, heated dome, with seating for up to eight and a drink package of your choice. Make a night of it with a stay at nearby SpringHill Suites, located within walking distance of the domes

Karben4 Brewing
This year, BYOB (blanket, that is!) to Karben4 Brewing, where you’ll have your pick of five different experiences – four distinctly themed igloo rentals and a firepit space. Of course, plenty of craft beer will be on hand as well as some light food, including a variety of pizzas, soft pretzels from Batch Bakehouse, and locally sourced snacks. Your group is welcome to bring in food, as well.
Pricing varies for weekday and weekend rentals. View availability and book here.
Nineteen09
Step into the garden at this Cross Plains wine bar to find five glowing globes available to rent. For $75, you can bring up to eight guests for a two-hour visit. A menu of wine, drinks and snacks are available for purchase, and you’re welcome to bring along your own food.
Ninteen09's family-friendly weekend bookings offer the same cozy charm at a lower price point ($50 for 90 minutes), and their Bubbly Bubbles package includes your dome rental plus a mimosa kit – the perfect brunch!

The Lone Girl Brewing Company
Rooftop domes take dining up a notch at Lone Girl, about 30 minutes north of Madison in the quaint Village of Waunakee.
Rent a dome for 90 minutes, grab a craft beer or sit down for a meal; each dome is equipped with a farm table and you can order off the full menu. String lights, an electric fireplace, and a Bluetooth speaker complete the cozy winter vibe – just be sure to prep a playlist beforehand! (This is also a stop on the Madison On Tap Craft Beverage Trail!)
You can reserve a dome here.
The Madison Club
Madison Club members and guests can dine atop the club in two reservable snowglobes overlooking Lake Monona. Share a bottle of wine or a few winter cocktails while the sun dips down across the majestic frozen lake.

Brix Cider
Experience outdoor dining at its most Midwestern at Mount Horeb’s Brix Cider, where you’ll find ice shanties in place of traditional domes. Settle in and sip on a range of fresh ciders from dry to sweet, plus farm-to-table sandwiches, burgers, and snacks. Each shanty is equipped with its own electric space heater and, for now, they are available first come, first serve.
The best way to see updates Brix’s shanty dining is to check their Instagram.
Iron Amethyst Inn
Heated domes occupy the spacious garden at Iron Amethyst Inn, Mazomanie’s charming bed and breakfast. Choose either a 90-minute or three-hour reservation and cozy up with a charcuterie board, two appetizers and drinks for your group of eight, all included in the price of your booking.

String lights, pine trees and igloos turn the east side's Robinia Courtyard into your own personal snowglobe. Your crew of eight can enjoy 90 minutes in a heated dome for $200, and reservations include a round of hot boozy (or NA) beverages in a keepsake mug. Spending the weekend in town? Stay at the hip Hotel Indigo just a few doors down.

A one-hour time slot costs $40 and includes five hot drinks – your choice of tea, coffee, hot cocoa, cider or their signature Miss Molly, made with coffee, chocolate and vanilla syrup.
