The Dane County Farmers’ Market is a beloved tradition to those who live in and love to visit Madison. Support local farms and producers again this year on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Throughout 2020, the market made some big changes including online ordering, drive-through pick-ups, and relocation to the Alliant Energy Center. Major safety precautions will continue to be in effect, but 2021 looks a bit different (and for Saturdays, even “normal”) – and we’re here for it.
We will update this post as more information becomes available, but please confirm details via dcfm.org before heading to the market.
Wednesdays: Online Orders & Pickup Only
3 – 6 p.m. at Alliant Energy Center
Only pre-orders will be available at the Wednesday market. To shop, download the WhatsGood app or create an account to browse products and add everything to one order. Orders must be placed in advance by noon the day before (they open at 10 a.m. on Sundays).
Then on Wednesday, drive, bike or walk-thru pick-up options are all available. Please note that parking will not be available.
Pick up is scheduled by the first letter of your first name if you’re driving:
- A-C: 3-3:30 p.m.
- D-I: 3:30-4 p.m.
- J-K: 4-4:30 p.m.
- L-M: 4:30-5 p.m.
- N-Z: 5-5:30 p.m.
- Cyclists & pedestrians (all): 5:30-6 p.m.
Put a visible sign (we recommend Sharpie on paper) on your vehicle with full name and list of farms from whom you ordered. Then, drive through (enter at the main entrance at Alliant Energy Center Way). Follow the signage to navigate the vendors and pop your trunk/lower back window so vendors can safely place your goods inside.
Saturdays: Online Orders and In-Person Shopping
7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Alliant Energy Center
This year, there are two ways to shop the Saturday farmers’ market. The first is to pre-order using the DCFM online store (WhatsGood) between 8 a.m. Wednesday – 5 p.m. Thursday, prior to the upcoming Saturday market.
To pick up your orders, walk through the vendors at Alliant Energy Center during the market’s open hours of 7 a.m. to Noon. Please note: Drive-thru pickup is not offered on Saturdays.
For those seeking a little more spontaneity, you are welcome to shop in person. You may even see some vendors that aren’t available online – and you can absolutely stop and shop on the spot.
Masks are still required even though the market is outdoor. This is to protect vendors and shoppers as with the traditional Saturday market experience, it can be difficult to maintain physical distancing. Limited free parking is available for the Saturday market.
