Keeping true to our heritage and mission of preservation and education, demonstrations of steam-powered antique threshing machines and 1920-30s harvesting techniques will be held throughout the day.
Demonstrations and hands on samplings of old fashioned crafts and chores include trying your hand at cooking in the farm’s kitchen using herbs and foods from the Heritage Garden along with our beautiful old wood stove. You can also try your hand at woodworking, black smithing, weaving, knitting, spinning, cider making, ice cream and butter churning, along with many other crafts.
House tours, wagon rides, scavenger hunts and yard games will be going on all day so bring the whole family! Small farm animals will be joining us for the day so folks can get a close up look, and pet the different animals.
Concessions and free sweet corn are available along with musical entertainment in the 100-year old Schumacher Barn. Music will feature the Mad City Jug Band and a good old fashioned barn dance!
Tickets are available at the door on the day of the event only. Credit cards are now being accepted for admissions. All proceeds go towards educational programs and restoration projects at the farm.
Rain or shine, get out of the house and bring the whole family out for some good old fashioned fun!
