Explore the tastes and sights of Madison’s beautiful and bikeable east side neighborhoods! Join us on a B-cycle* as we explore the Willy Street, Atwood and Olbrich neighborhoods. All food will be taken to go or eaten outside!

We’ll start at the top of Willy Street by Machinery Row where we’ll get an overview of the tour, and learn the basics of riding the B-cycles. As we pedal easily (the new B-cycles have electric assist and are a breeze to ride!) down Willy Street, we’ll make our first stop at Buraka, Madison’s favorite Ethiopian restaurant. We’ll take our first tastings to Orton park. This was Madison’s first city park, and before that it had a darker history. We’ll learn about the African American history of this neighborhood, including the oldest known Madison resident who lived on Willy Street!

From there we’ll cruise along the Eastwood path to our next stop at Monsoon Siam, a delicious Thai restaurant. We’ll enjoy 2 delicious tastings before heading to Garver Feed Mill, a recently restored historic sugar and feed mill behind Olbrich gardens. The path takes us past community gardens and the Goodman Community Center. At Garver we’ll sit on the patio enjoying samples from two resident businesses, Kosa and Ian’s Pizza. Kosa prepares vegan dishes in the Ayurvedic tradition. Be ready to have your senses ignited! Ian’s pizza is a crowd favorite, and you have an option to wash it down with a beer or kombucha sample.

After our relaxing visit, we’ll head back down the path toward the start of the tour, stopping for a scoop of real Wisconsin Ice Cream at the Chocolate Shoppe!
