Take part in the Boom Boom Triathlon! A new sprint triathlon in the Madison, Wisconsin area that takes place on the 4th of July, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. This triathlon is a scenic 1/4 mile swim, 16 mile bike route, and 3.1 mile run.
The triathlon starts and finishes in the beautiful Stewart County Park. The 400 meter fully supported wave start swim is in a clean spring fed lake with a nice sandy beach. The 16 mile bike takes you by some of the area's well known landmarks such as Tyrol Basin and Cave of the Mounds. The race starts by going through the trendy downtown of Mt Horeb and then takes you south, towards Blue Mounds where panoramic views descend into the green valleys of the Town of Vermont. You will slowly climb back towards Stewart Park along a stream while passing Tyrol Basin Ski area, and many farms that will have goats, horses and cows cheering you on. The 3.1 mile run will challenge you with some single track paths but will give you awesome scenery as you race from trail to gravel path, and mowed fields. Race individually or recruit your friends for a relay. Participate in a great race on the 4th of July before your holiday festivities!
