As a mother, Lisa Guernsey wondered about the influence of television and interactive media on her two young daughters. As a reporter and researcher, she resolved to find out. Along the way she discovered new ways to manage the onslaught of online information, help her children learn something, and stay sane (or nearly!) at the same time.
Join us for a presentation with Lisa, the author of Screen Time: How Electronic Media—From Baby Videos to Educational Software—Affects Your Young Child, and the director of the Learning Technologies Project at New America.
After her presentation, there will be a book signing as well as time to shop at the WECA Conference exhibit hall.
This is a free community event. Children under 18 years are not allowed in conference venues for the duration of the event. All WECA events support parents and nursing mothers by providing lounges for pumping and suggestions for child care.
