OVERVIEW
In this four-week class, we will learn the basics of relief printing, including safely handling tools, techniques for carving linoleum and wood blocks, inking plates and printing by hand and on a small press. We will explore the history of relief printing and look at past and present examples of the art form for inspiration. Each participant will carve at least two smaller blocks, learn how to pull a one color print on paper and experiment with mixed media techniques to add variation to an edition of prints.
