Class Experience

Attendees will learn how to start a painting with acrylic inks and fluid acrylics. Create bright and colorful art using different painting techniques. Tap into your intuition to create one of a kind artwork with loose guided instruction by Katherine Simdon. Leave the workshop with a finished painting in a 11"x14" ready to frame mat.

PLEASE NOTE OUR WORKSHOP POLICY: We understand that things come up and will now be offering FULL refunds in the form of store credit if you notify us one week prior to the class. Only Half of the workshop fee will be refunded in store credit within one week of the class. There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations 48 hours prior to the class.

About the Instructor - Katherine Simdon

My artistic process is deeply rooted in the ebb and flow of the world around me, allowing the elements, experiences, and emotions to inspire and guide me. Often, I find myself immersed in the act of creation without a clear understanding of what I'm thinking or feeling. Tapping into my intuition and trusting in my training, experience, and gut feeling to take over as I create colors and apply them to the surface. 

It is only when the work nears completion, framed and ready to share with the world, that I find a name for the artwork. This transformative process involves setting aside dedicated moments to meditate with each piece, delving deep into my memory to pinpoint the source of the energy that drove the creation.

Most of my memories are intricately woven with the connections I've shared with others, the beauty of witnessing human interactions, or the moments of unity between myself and the Earth. These memories serve as the beginning of my artistic expression, encapsulating the essence of these connections and experiences. Through my paintings, I “journal” the energy that I feel, inviting others who share a deep sensitivity to human energy to partake in this journey.
