OVERVIEW

Known as the ‘diminutive dynamo’, Isabelle Demers returns to Overture Hall on Tuesday, March 15 for a concert packed with challenging transcriptions. Ms. Demers is The Joyce Bowden Chair in Organ at Baylor University, where she teaches applied organ and other courses in the organ curriculum. The performance features Mendelssohn’s Overture to “St. Paul', Davies’s Solemn Melody, Laurin’s Sonata No. 1, Bach’s Sinfonia from Cantata BWV 146, Alkan’s Excerpts from Twelve Etudes for the Feet, and Stravinsky’s Select Movements from Petrushka. This concert is sure to excite and showcase the incredible versatility of the organ.
