John DeMain conducts the Madison Symphony Orchestra’s 94th Season Premiere with up-and-coming virtuoso Greg Zelek as featured soloist. Both the Principal Organist and Curator of the Overture Concert Organ for the MSO, Zelek is a recent graduate of the Juilliard School and has received national acclaim for his ability to instill life and complexity of feeling through the highly varied tonal range of the Mighty Klais organ. In “Love, Lust, & Redemption”, the orchestra performs a series of classical pieces including Wagner’s Tannhäuser: Overture and Venusberg Music, Barber’s Toccata Festiva with Zelek on organ, Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon Faun, and Dvořák’s Symphony No.7.
