Madison, WI 53715
OVERVIEW

Madison Good Neighbor Gathering is an annual festival taking place in Brittingham Park on the southwest side of Madison. The date for this year’s festival is Sunday, September 8th 2024 from 12-4PM.

GNG Mission Statement: To cultivate a sense of community through active lifestyles, embracing cultural diversity through the mediums of music and art, and providing avenues for youth and families to discover and engage in Madison.

Information tables feature literature and handouts for guests to take with them, games and crafts for kids and adults, and engaging conversations with knowledgeable staff from participating organizations. For example: Neighborhood House hosts an information table that highlights its programs and services including the Neighborhood House Community Center food pantry and other food security programming. The NHCC table also features face painting and yard games.

The Stage at GNG hosts music and dance acts from around the world. From African dance, Hmong music, and Mexican Ballet Folklorico performances, the stage acts are chosen to showcase the cultural diversity in Madison and foster a sense of safety and belonging in District 13.

In addition to information tables and culturally diverse entertainment GNG hosts activities that encourage active lifestyles such as circus activities, bicycling to and from the event, fort building, bouncy house structure, and a scavenger hunt. Bike racks are provided along with maps and park and ride options so participants can ride their bikes to GNG.
