The 16th annual Madison Winter Festival, a family-friendly event, returns to Elver Park February 1st and 2nd.
MADISON, Wis. – Held each year since 2005, the festival features two days of outdoor activities for all ages and includes live music, candlelight skiing, snow and ice sculptures, sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, fat biking, food vendors, and more. Keep warm with hot chocolate and s’mores to make it a truly magical weekend. Guaranteed man-made snow will ensure activities are held rain, snow or shine!
The community festival celebrates and promotes outdoor sports, recreation, art and healthy lifestyles in the winter. The famed national snow sculpting champs will also be there to show off their amazing skills.
Madison Winter Festival weekend is a kid-friendly affair with a number of events and activities designed for the younger set.
Kids will have a chance to express their athletic and creative talents at the “Sports & Arts” Activity Corner: try cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating or sledding; do some winter “painting” on the ice canvas or even hand-paint a whole Subaru! Listen to live music and marvel at the frozen creations of snow and ice sculptors. Keep warm with hot chocolate and s’mores by the bonfire. It’s a family-friendly, easy-to-play stop.
Rentals of sleds, skates, snowshoes, and skis will be available at the park.
The Madison Winter Festival runs through the weekend of February 1-2, 2020 and concludes on Sunday at 4pm. For more information visit: www.winter-fest.com
