Russian-Israeli powerhouse Yefim Bronfman returns to Overture Hall to perform Brahms’s first piano concerto. One of the most revered and accomplished pianists in modernity, Bronfman has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, winning in 1997 for a joint recording of the three Bartok Piano Concerti with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His “technical brawn” and “glittery grace” [Los Angeles Times] meet the challenge of this incredibly demanding keyboard masterpiece. Bronfman’s performance follows the grandeur of Weber’s Overture from Euryanthe and the liveliness of Stravinsky’s Petrushka. Student rush tickets are available for $15-20 at the Overture Center Box Office on the day of the concert.
