Countertenor Reginald Mobley, highly sought after for baroque, classical, and modern repertoire, will join Madison Symphony Orchestra Principal Organist Greg Zelek in Overture Hall for a program ranging from baroque works to gospel spirituals on Tuesday, February 15. Mr. Mobley’s recordings have received critical acclaim, including several Grammy nominations. The program at Overture Hall includes Purcell’s Music for a While, Bach’s Widerstehe doch der Sünde, Handel’s Piu non cura, Price’s Suite for Organ, Gershwin’s Someone to Watch Over Me, and Hogan’s Gospel Spirituals. This unique program demonstrates creativity beyond our standard scope to weave together different musical genres, uncovering striking similarities and beautiful contrasts.
