A vibrant and unrestrained duo, Violinist Pinchas Zukerman and Cellist Amanda Forsyth make sparks fly in their fiery performance of the Brahms Double Concerto, with which these two renowned musicians made their Madison Symphony debut in 2001. Both Zukerman and Forsyth’s international fame has taken their playing all across the world to places including London, Israel, and Australia. Their 2020 return calls for the utmost program; the orchestra performs Berlioz’s swashbuckling Le Corsaire Overture which serves as his depiction of a ruined fortification on the city of Nice’s coastline, along with Copland’s monumental Symphony No.3, a symphony that perfectly reflects the spirit of post-war America and holds the title of “Greatest American Symphony”. Student rush tickets are available for $15-20 at the Overture Center Box Office on the day of the concert.
