Sand Mold Carving Workshop with FeLion Studios (Ages 12+)

Make a relief sculpture in cast iron by using the sand-carving process as you “scratch” a design into a pre-made sand mold “scratch tile” to create a unique piece of cast iron art! Your finished scratch tile will be filled with molten iron during the Pour’n Yer Heart Out community iron pour event at Garver Feed Mill on February 14.

In this two hour workshop, learn about various techniques, ideas, boundaries, and options possible within the reductive sand carving process. Enjoy a relaxed, inspiring and creative environment with examples and professional instruction from award-winning foundry artist Alisa Toninato. No experience necessary and all supplies provided.
