SAUNA + STARGAZING

Please join Kindled Community Sauna at The Octagon Barn! We are offering wood-fired sauna + cold plunge sessions that are family-friendly and the perfect way to spend time in community on a summer evening.

Complementing your sauna session will be an evening of stargazing lead by John Heasley of Driftless Stargazing.

Please note: sessions will be three hours long and open to a total of 18 people (not counting kiddos). There will be one 6-seat sauna for people to cycle in and out of, as well as 2 cold plunge tubs. The idea is that you can come and go as you please, arriving and leaving whenever it suits you!

Please feel free to bring your kids. Let them run around and be looked after by fellow sauna-goers while you enjoy the heat, and return the favor on your breaks! Older children are very welcome to spend time in the sauna and cold plunge.

Make sure you arrive wearing whatever it is you feel comfortable getting sweaty/wet in. Bring a full water bottle and two towels as well as camping chairs or picnic blankets for sitting around the fire. Grab dinner at Wander Provisions or Reunion Family Barbecue ahead of time or bring your own snacks, picnic with to enjoy in the expansive grassy area.

John will be our guide to the colors of the sunset, Earth’s shadow and the Belt of Venus. As the sky darkens during the twilight, we will watch for the stars coming out and learn their names and constellations. Stargazing is free flowing and can be enjoyed before or after sauna or during your cool down rounds.

A pre-session email will be sent to those attending with some more granular details and a waiver to sign a day or two prior to the event.
