On display you will find a sample of the many pieces that Stoughton artist, Ethel Kvalheim created over her lifetime. Her artistic life, however, was more than rosemaling. She began sketching as a small girl on the family farm near Utica and was a watercolor painter for many years. Few people outside of her family, however, know about the beautiful landscapes in oil and still life paintings she also created over the years. She even took a turn at painting on porcelain china!
Thanks to a gift of a large kubbestol by Gregg Gibson as well as a loan of a wide array of other art objects from her son Keith, we are pleased to offer this special exhibit.
