OVERVIEW

Plants have persevered for over 500 million years on Earth, supporting a healthy planet and instilling resilience within their own nature. Join us to learn from talented professionals in the gardening community about the many ways resilience inspires their work and helps us understand relationships within gardens and natural spaces. The virtual lecture series offers an opportunity to connect with inspiring professionals in the gardening community throughout the United States and beyond. Each lecture includes a 60-minute presentation on ZOOM followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the presenter. 

 

The Invincible Garden Ladies with Abra Lee

Abra Lee is a storyteller, horticulturist, and author of the forthcoming book Conquer the Soil: Black America and the Untold Stories of Our Country's Gardeners, Farmers, and Growers. She has spent a whole lotta time in the dirt as a municipal arborist and airport landscape manager. Her work has been featured in publications including the New York Times and Fine Gardening. Lee is a graduate of Auburn University College of Agriculture and an alumna of the Longwood Gardens Society of Fellows, a global network of public horticulture professionals.
