The Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) will be hosting National Geographic photojournalist and activist Ami Vitale on Tuesday, October 14th, from 6pm-7:30pm for a free campus and community lecture. The event will consist of a 1-hour lecture and 30-minute Q&A. The event, titled "Wild Hope: Rethinking Our Relationship With Nature,” will take place in Shannon Hall, Memorial Union. No tickets required, the event is FREE!

Ami Vitale is an acclaimed National Geographic photographer, writer, and documentary filmmaker, as well as the founder of Vital Impacts, her non-profit which has raised over $5 million to support vital conservation projects. Her career stands as a testament to her deep dedication to documenting and addressing global crises. Vitale has consistently spotlighted critical issues affecting our world. Her work focuses on the stories of individuals living on the front lines of war, climate change, and extinction, who refuse to let cataclysm define their futures. Through her compelling journalism, she highlights stories of resilience and innovation, emphasizing the delicate balance between humanity and wildlife and the urgent need for conservation.
