Memorial Day Weekend

Kayakers paddle in front of a packed Memorial Union Terrace

Biking and boating and Bucky, oh my! Kick off summer by spending Memorial Day weekend in Madison. Start your trip by lounging lakeside at Memorial Union Terrace — grab your friends, a pitcher of local beer, and enjoy the sunset on one of Madison's best patios. Hit the Dane County Farmers' Market for Saturday morning breakfast, and pick up fresh produce for a cookout! Spend time outdoors biking our 200+ miles of trails, or kayak under the stars at Brittingham Boats' Full Moon Paddle. While you explore town, keep your eyes peeled for Bucky on Parade! Over 80 life-size artistic Bucky Badger statues will call Madison home this summer, and we challenge you to find them all.

World's Largest Brat Fest

Volunteers laugh and and enjoy a sunny day as brats cook on a large grill at Brat Fest

Brats are only the beginning of things to relish at the free, 36th annual World's Largest Brat Fest, held over Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy delicious, sizzling brats (of course) as you listen to over 100 free music acts, including Aaron Lewis, Gin Blossoms, Bobaflex, and Black Stone Cherry. When you can't eat another bite, peruse the car show, grab the pup for the Hot Dog Jog or try the Human Foosball tournament and Log Rolling exhibition. The kids will be endlessly entertained by the carnival, kid's zone, and dazzling fireworks show—and the beer is guaranteed to be flowing for the adults. Your gateway to summer awaits!
