Whether you’re chasing a toddler in our children’s museum or trying to outscore your tween while bowling, there’s non-stop indoor action for every age in Madison, WI!

AGES 0-5

Madison Children's Museum

Madison Children’s Museum: Three floors of fabulous fun, including Wildernest, a global village that mixes climbing and crawling, and the Art Studio, home to finger paints (and art smocks!).

Keva Sports Center: Sip coffee from the concession area while your little ones play with parachutes, soccer balls, mini trampolines and basketball hoops! Open play is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there are also many open play events throughout the year.

Crawdaddy Cove Waterpark: Madison’s only indoor waterpark is located within the Holiday Inn & Suites, but day-trippers can also take advantage of this attraction! Young ones love the SS Crawdaddy Shrimp Boat and the Louisiana Bayou Adventure.

AGES 6-10

Vitense Golfland

Vitense Golfland: Play rock, paper, scissors to choose your activity! Vitense has three mini-golf courses, a batting cage, water balloon sling shots, boat races, a climbing wall and more.

Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park: This ultimate trampoline park will have your kids jumping for joy—for hours. Play dodge ball and shoot hoops; then, grab a bite to eat in the café.

House on the Rock: You have to visit House on the Rock to truly appreciate it. This sprawling museum started as a house and now contains numerous quirky and fun collections, music machines and the world’s largest indoor carousel.

Cave of the Mounds: Have fun saying words like spelunking, stalagmites and stalactites at Cave of the Mounds, an underground national landmark full of shimmering pools and crystal formations. Plus, the cave stays a comfortable 50 degrees year-round, regardless of the weather outside!

AGES 11-15

Chazen Museum of Art

UW-Madison Sports: Share your Badger spirit by cheering on college athletes at a UW-Madison game. The Kohl Center is home to the nationally-ranked men’s basketball team, and the UW Field House hosts the women’s volleyball team, which went to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2015. Who knows, you might have a future Badger on your hands!

Chazen Museum of Art: The artists in your family are sure to find inspiration at the expansive Chazen! This free art museum on the UW-Madison campus houses the second largest collection of art in the state, including ten to twelve temporary exhibits and permanent collections.  

Madison Capitols Hockey: Root, root, root for the home team at a Madison Capitols hockey game! The Capitols are a Tier 1 junior ice hockey team and the games at the Alliant Energy Center are just as exciting as the NHL!

AGES 18+

Bowling Alley

Bowl-A-Vard Lanes: Forty lanes of fun! A state-of-the-art scoring system was added in 2016, so you can focus on your game. Then, go to the bar and focus on pool, darts, foosball and shuffleboard!

The Sett at Union South: Between a climbing wall, bowling, pool and foosball, there are countless ways to compete with your friends at the Sett (the scientific name for a badger’s den). Winner buys pizza!

Mindful Yoga at Monona Terrace: This free yoga class with panoramic views of Lake Monona happens every Tuesday and Thursday year-round. The class is suitable for those new to yoga, as well as seasoned yogis.
