First Madison Memory: Walking around the Capitol Square, down State Street, and over to what is now Monona Terrace where I discovered the beautiful view of Lake Monona on a blue-sky spring day!
What I love about Madison: Olbrich's Bolz Conservatory in the dead of winter, the pier at Tenney Park in summer.

First Madison Memory: Middle school softball tournament. We stayed in a hotel and had to evacuate one night at 3 a.m. because someone pulled the fire alarm. My move to Madison landed me just one mile from that hotel!
Best local experience: Definitely check out State Street. There is something for everyone.
Why I stay: I love it here! Madison is big enough, but small enough, at the same time.

First Madison memory: When I first came to Madison, I ended up wandering around State Street during what looked like a giant sidewalk sale. Turns out, it was Maxwell Street Days.
On Saturdays you’ll find me: I’m captain of the Unholy Rollers and the Dairyland Dolls, so most Saturdays, you’ll find me skating, emailing or volunteering for our roller derby league/teams. Otherwise, I’m spending time with my husband.

Best local experience: James Madison Park is a great place to toss around a Frisbee, hula-hoop or catch some rays by Lake Mendota.
Insider tip for visitors: Head to the rooftop of Monona Terrace for great food from Lake Vista Café and exceptional views of Lake Monona.

First Madison memory: Seeing the city listed as the “Best Place to Live in the US” online. I lived in Flagstaff, AZ, at the time and made it my mission to visit. Now, I get to live here!
Best local experience: Jogging down Lakeshore path on campus in autumn. The lake is your backdrop, the leaves are changing colors, and the UW Marching Band is playing in the background.
