Book Buddies Reading Program

Sign a child up for a lifelong love of reading by signing up for a free 20-minute reading session with a Book Buddy, a registered therapy dog! Every second Saturday of the month, the Book Buddies reading program happens at City Dog Vet Clinic.The Book Buddies are all ears and can't wait for someone to share a book with them! The reading sessions allow one child to read to one dog, at a time - giving each child the opportunity to go at their own pace while they build fluency in reading. The Book Buddies are patient listeners - they will not point out any reading errors. By having a patient and attentive audience, children can feel motivated to share a book, be kept on task, and build confidence in their reading skills. We encourage children 5 years and older to participate!

To reserve a reading session for a child, sign up at www.guardianwhiskers.org or stop by! Bring a favorite book - or find a new favorite among a selection of available books. (Parking is available for free on nearby streets or for a fee in the parking garage located under the building.)
