Plan Ahead for Parking
With thousands of visitors from across the state headed to downtown Madison for tournament weekend, if you choose to drive downtown, you’ll want to review these insider tips for parking and transportation to ensure a smooth trip. Construction near the Kohl Center will add some additional parking challenges this year. We recommend using garages near the Capitol Square, where parking is plentiful and within walking distance of the Kohl Center. Arrive a little early and you’ll have time to get there via State Street, where you can pop in and out of the locally owned restaurants and shops!
- Best options: Capitol Square North Garage, Overture Center Garage, State Street Capitol Garage, Dayton / Pinckney Ramp, Block89 Ramp.
- Not recommended: State Street Campus Garage / Lake Street Parking Garage (Located at 415 N. Lake St. in Madison, this garage is typically a good option for tournament parking near the Kohl Center but is under construction; spaces here will be very limited and attempting to use this garage may cause traffic congestion and delays.)
- Get City of Madison Parking Info & Availability
- Get Urban Land Interest Ramp Rates & Details
- Additional transportation options: Grab a Union Cab or check with your hotel to see if they offer a shuttle. Lyft and Uber are also available in our city.
- Accessible parking will be available near the Kohl Center for those who need it.
John Nolen Drive Construction
John Nolen Drive will be limited to one lane in each direction. We suggest considering to use Park Street to travel towards campus. Click here for full details.
