Doug White TRIO with Tom Gullion and Mark Urness

1224 Williamson St.
Madison, WI 53703
OVERVIEW

Join the happy hour party at Cafe CODA for stellar music without a ticket. Music will feature fresh versions of classic jazz from the 1960’s by artists such as Bill Evans, Charles Mingus, and Wayne Shorter.
Tom Gullion is a vibrant and innovative jazz saxophonist and flautist. His adventurous improvisations earned him a wide reputation as a creative jazz musician. A veteran of the Chicago jazz scene, Tom leads bands, composes and performs throughout the midwest.
Mark Urness is a versatile bassist, composer, and educator. His diverse performance experience encompasses orchestral, chamber, jazz, salsa, and solo playing. Recent performances include appearances with Jazz greats Art Lande, Terell Stafford, Wycliffe Gordon, Howard Levy, Russ Johnson, and Joe Locke. He is heard frequently on Wisconsin Public Radio as a chamber musician and soloist. Mark teaches at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.
Doug White creates harmony through piano, organ, and synthesizer. He has toured internationally, led an innovative jazz fusion band with the “funky drummer” Clyde Stubblefield, and is an experienced soloist and bandleader. Equally at home with a quiet solo piano piece and a high energy swing or funk, Doug brings six decades of professional music experience, sensitivity and style to every performance.

No cover charge; freewill offerings (cash only) are encouraged and help keep the music flowing! All proceeds support music education in southern Wisconsin. Recordings of these three: dougwhitejazzpiano.bandcamp.com
