Gallery Artists' Reception

Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the work of artists Jan Jahnke and Chris Villand at Grand Inspired. This special artist reception invites guests to meet the makers behind two distinct yet harmonious bodies of work—each exploring the balance between natural materials, artistic vision, and human emotion.

Jan Jahnke brings her soulful Spirit Shields—mixed-media works that blend symbolism, texture, and natural elements to express resilience, protection, and connection.  Jan’s original screen prints layer of color and texture to create abstract images that feel both contemporary and timeless.  Each piece reflects her deep connection to nature and spirit, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find meaning in the subtle interplay of pattern and form. Her art invites quiet reflection and a sense of grounding, drawing viewers into a space where spirituality and creativity intertwine. Jan will also be debuting her newest work, adding sculptural elements to her immersive screen prints.

Chris Villand, a fine wood artist, transforms wood into graceful, fluid forms inspired by Celtic and Norwegian designs.  His work honors traditional carving influences while revealing the natural beauty of wood grain and organic form in two dimensions. Each piece is painstakingly cut, then puzzled together to form a unified design.  Chris bridges the line between craftsmanship and art, uniting precision with an intuitive sense of flow.   Whether placed in a functional table or mesmerizing wall art, these patterns weave nature, symbolism and spirit into harmonious balance for your home.

Guests will enjoy conversation with both artists, refreshments, and the opportunity to view (and purchase) Jan’s & Chris’s newest works in an intimate gallery setting.

Experience a whole evening or a weekend of artistry and inspiration in Historic Downtown Stoughton.   Abel Contemporary Gallery hosts opening receptions for Diane Washa & Connie Noyes.    Stoughton Opera House hosts Del McCoury on Friday & Caitlin Canty on Saturday.
