Grid Art Journaling

Grid art journaling is a great way to make little experiments in your art journal. You can explore composition, color combinations and different materials. I will provide junk mail and scrap paper that we will make into a master sheet using paper ephemera, mark making and one of my favorite techniques with stencils. I love to incorporate a lot of color in my art and have experimented extensively with different ways to do so. This method is very unpredictable but it can turn out beautifully. We will cut these papers up to make a selection of squares to make an interesting grid composition in our art journals. Then we will finish the pages with additional mark making and any finishing touches.

This class is perfect for someone just getting into making art but will also have novel techniques (or nonfiction) that will be interesting to the experienced artist. Learn how to repurpose a hardcover book using acrylic paint, collage fodder, writing tools and stencils. We will explore using what you find in the book for inspiration.
