OVERVIEW
The Madison Community Chorus and Maestro Community Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Mark Bloedow, will present "Reflections & Celebrations".
Choral highlights will include Randall Thompson's stirring Alleluia, Aaron Copland's folk song settings of Zion's Walls and Simple Gifts, G. F. Handel's Hallelujah, Amen from the oratorio Judas Maccabeus, and J. S. Bach's beloved Sheep May Safely Graze with flute duet, among others. The orchestra will perform Appalachian Morning by Robert Sheldon, the second movement from Joseph Haydn's well known Surprise Symphony, and join forces with the choir for an inspirational setting of the beloved Let There Be Peace on Earth arranged by Keith Christopher. Also featured will the sopranos and altos singing Arise My Love by Laura Farnell, and the tenors and basses presenting the Josh Groban favorite, You Raise Me Up. A festive reception will follow the concert in the Lakeview Room, all are welcome!
