Tours of Monona Terrace

In 1938 renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright first proposed his plans for a "dream civic center" in downtown Madison. The project became mired in political battles that polarized Madison for almost 60 years, finally opening in 1997. Discover Wright’s vision come to life with striking geometry, stunning lake views, and dramatic open spaces.

While here, visit exhibits about Frank Lloyd Wright and Monona Terrace's history, a Gift Shop with a variety of home decor and souvenir items, and panoramic views of downtown Madison and Lake Monona from the William T Evjue Rooftop Gardens, weather permitting. The Lake Vista Cafe is open on the Rooftop during summer months.
