Watercolor Painting for Beginners

About the class:

In this three-day workshop, Madison area artist Chele Ramos will teach you everything she knows about how to get started as a watercolor painter. You will go home with a final landscape painting, as well as newfound skills to paint your own beautiful watercolor artworks.

About the instructor:

Chele Ramos is a self taught portrait artist raised in Madison, Wisconsin. She has been painting since 2016 and teaching for a couple of years. Chele works with a variety of mediums such as watercolor, oils, acrylics, graphite, charcoal, pastels, and coffee.

Required materials:

•  5 ml tubes of Holbein (or similar quality) watercolor paints: pyrrol red or cadmium red light, alizarin crimson or quinacridone red, cadmium yellow deep, lemon yellow, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue (green shade) or cerulean blue.veridian or pthalo green (blue shade), sap green or hooker"s green
• a palette with at least 10 small wells for paint and some mixing area
• a pad of cheap 9"x12" canson watercolor paper (20 sheets, 117 lb) (or similar)
• 1 full sheet (22"x30") per person of arches brand 140 lb, cold pressed watercolor paper which we'll cut down to smaller sizes for several final paintings.
• 1 - size 10 or 12 round brush (synthetic is fine) (princeton veletouch series 3950 or similar)
• size 0-2 round or rigger brush (synthetic is fine)
• size 1" flat brush (synthetic is fine)
• optional: Mop Brush- LG ZEN Royal and Langnickel Z83WR
• 1 pencil (H or HB)
• 1 kneaded eraser
