The city of Madison's energy on Badger gamedays is infectious. It's a day full of celebration, tradition, Big Ten pride and more. Whether or not you have tickets to the game, there's somewhere in the city that'll feel just as electric as jumping around at Camp Randall Stadium. Join in the fun and festivities by tailgating—before, during or after the game—or spectating at these local favorites.
Union South
The Badger Bash at Union South is just steps away from Camp Randall Stadium. Two-and-a-half hours before kick off, enjoy performances by the UW–Madison Marching Band and Spirit Squad, your favorite tailgate food and beverages, live music, games and more at this family-friendly event. Post-party, you can catch the game on the big screen indoors at The Sett Pub.
Memorial Union
Who doesn't love lounging by the lake on a nice fall day? Grab some friends and head to the Memorial Union Terrace on UW–Madison's campus for food, beverages, ice cream and more. Watch the game outdoors from your sunburst chair (on the big screen!) as well as indoors at Der Rathskeller and Der Stiftskeller.
Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company
Did you know that all four of the Madison-area Great Dane locations—Downtown, Hilldale, Fitchburg and Eastside—offer free shuttles to Camp Randall Stadium on gamedays? Looks like you've just found your new favorite spot to tailgate! Enjoy food and a locally-crafted drink before the game or stick around to watch on the pub's TVs.
Butterbird
Butterbird is located on Regent Street, just a few blocks away from the stadium. Their spacious restaurant space and large outdoor patio in the back are great spots for tailgating or watching the games. Along with their usual menu, they have a special Badger gameday menu with all your go-to tailgate food—brats, hot dogs, burgers and specialty draft cocktails.
The Edgewater
Whether you're a local or staying the night, The Edgewater offers shuttles (free for guests, $12 for others) to Camp Randall Stadium. Enjoy brunch at the Statehouse, drinks with a view of Lake Mendota at the Boathouse or just hang out with friends on the plaza and get hyped up before the game! Stick around to watch the game at one of The Edgewater's restaurants or venture a few blocks to one of the local State Street bars.
Nitty Gritty
Known as the official birthday place in Madison, it's always a party at the Nitty Gritty. Enjoy burgers and sandwiches, pub snacks, beverages (get one free if it's your birthday!) all while pumping up for the big game. Head to the downtown location to immerse yourself in all the gameday action, or enjoy a more relaxing environment at the Middleton or Sun Prairie spots. No matter which location you choose, you can guarantee there will be a sea of red and white with the game playing on the TVs!
