Tours of Frank Lloyd Wright's Unitarian Meeting House

The Unitarian Meeting House is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's 17 most significant buildings, a designation given it in 1960 by the American Association of Architects. In 2004 it was granted National Landmark status.  The building was unique for its time and had a profound influence on the future of American religious architecture. Yet it remains amazingly modern today and timeless. In addition, this was Frank Lloyd Wright's own church and reflects his views on Nature, beauty and spirituality. 

Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds during daylight hours and permitted to take a peek in the auditorium (to see other parts you must be escorted) when the building is open to the public--Tuesdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-2:00.   To see all the public parts of the building, learn its storied history and the difficulties involved in building it, you are invited to take a public tour or arrange for a group or private tour with an experienced, volunteer guide. Tours are available most Sundays at 11:15 year-round. The tour season runs from April thru Oct.  All tours require advanced reservations and at least one person must have signed up at least 24 hours in advance for the guided tour to take place at that time.  So long as one person has signed up in advance, others may do so up until tour time.  

April and October tours are offered at 2:30 on Fridays only. May and September tours are offered Monday-Friday at 2:30. During the months of June, July and August two daily tours are offered; at 10:00 and 2:30.  The building is closed to the public on Saturdays,  on public holidays or when church activities require the building's use.
